GRS Recruitment are delighted to partner with a reputable insurance company based in Malta, seeking to appoint a Risk Officer. The Risk Officer will support the development, implementation, monitoring, and continuous improvement of the Company's risk management framework. The role will involve identifying, assessing, monitoring, and reporting key risks in accordance with applicable regulatory requirements, including Solvency II, and ensuring that appropriate risk controls and mitigation measures are in place.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Assist in maintaining and developing the Company's risk management framework and policies.

Identify, assess, monitor, and report on the Company's principal risks, including underwriting, market, credit, liquidity, operational, and regulatory risks.

Support the preparation of regular risk reports for senior management, the Board, and relevant committees.

Assist with Solvency II risk management and regulatory reporting requirements.

Contribute to the Company's Own Risk and Solvency Assessment (ORSA) process.

Monitor compliance with risk appetite, risk limits, and key risk indicators.

Assist in conducting risk assessments and scenario analysis, including stress and sensitivity testing.

Work closely with Finance, Actuarial, Compliance, and other functions to ensure consistency in risk information and reporting.

Identify emerging risks and assess their potential impact on the business.

Assist with the review and enhancement of internal controls and risk mitigation measures.

Support regulatory inspections, audits, and requests for information.

Keep up to date with changes in insurance legislation, regulatory requirements, and industry practices.
CANDIDATE PROFILE

Degree in Risk Management, Finance, Economics, Actuarial Science, Accounting, Mathematics, or a related discipline.

Relevant experience in risk management, preferably within the insurance or financial services sector.

Good understanding of risk management principles and regulatory requirements.

Knowledge of Solvency II and/or insurance regulatory frameworks is considered an asset.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Excellent numerical and report-writing abilities.

Strong attention to detail and ability to work with complex information.

Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with different functions.

Good communication and organisational skills.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
SALARY AND BENEFITS

€45,000 - €50,000 Gross Per Annum
