On behalf of our client, a leading professional services organisation, GRS are recruiting a Senior Accountant in Malta who will report to the Financial Controller. The selected candidate will be driven, ambitious and enjoy working in a challenging, fast-paced environment. This role calls for someone who would be responsible for leading and working closely with the Accounts Manager and playing a key part in service offering. MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Oversee and manage accounts payable and receivable, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in transactions.

Maintain, update, and review general ledger accounts for accuracy and completeness.

Conduct thorough bank reconciliations and verify the integrity of financial data.

Lead month-end and year-end closing procedures, ensuring timely and accurate reporting.

Prepare, analyse, and present management reports, offering insights and recommendations.

Coordinate and supervise the preparation of comprehensive financial statements.

Liaise with tax and audit teams, providing essential financial information and support for assigned clients.

Ensure compliance with accounting regulations and stay abreast of new industry practices and standards.

Mentor junior staff and contribute to their professional development.
CANDIDATE PROFILE

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

ACCA, CPA, or equivalent qualification is highly preferred.

Minimum of 5 years’ experience in accounting, with a demonstrated track record in a similar role.

Advanced proficiency in accounting software and MS Office, especially Excel.

Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.

Proven ability to work independently and meet deadlines.

Experience with local and international accounting standards and regulations.

Previous experience in a similar accounting role.
