We are excited to present a fantastic opportunity for a Senior Accountant to join a thriving retail company based in Larnaca.  As a Senior Accountant, you'll be at the heart of our finance operations in Larnaca or Limassol in Cyprus. From overseeing daily accounting tasks to ensuring compliance with local tax laws, you'll play a critical role in supporting the business with clear financial insights and strategic support. This position is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and wants to grow with a company that’s just getting started in Cyprus—but backed by a global track record of success.
 
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Maintain accurate records of financial transactions and ensure timely bank deposits.
  • Prepare and submit VAT returns in accordance with local tax legislation.
  • Provide financial reporting and updates to senior leadership (CEO and Board of Directors).
  • Collaborate with the CFO, auditors, and tax consultants on financial strategies.
  • Lead, mentor, and support junior accounting team members.
  • Manage client and debtor relationships, ensuring timely collections and account reconciliation.
  • Handle bank reconciliations, cash flow tracking, and creditor accounts.
  • Oversee direct and indirect tax obligations (Income Tax, SDC, Corporate Tax, GHS, Temporary Tax).
  • Manage social insurance contributions and ensure compliance.
  • Review payroll data prepared by third-party providers and process payments.
  • Monitor and execute weekly payment cycles.
  • Oversee store cash registers and ensure correct accounting practices are followed.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless financial operations.
CANDIDATE PROFILE
  • Proven experience in a Senior Accountant or similar finance role.
  • Strong working knowledge of accounting software (ODOO experience is a plus).
  • BA in Accounting and/or LCCI Higher.
  • ACCA certification is an advantage.
  • Deep understanding of Cyprus tax laws and financial regulations.
  • Excellent command of both Greek and English (spoken and written).
  • Strong communication and team collaboration skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and maintain high accuracy.
  • Proficiency in Excel and Microsoft Office.
  • Exceptional attention to detail in all financial matters.
