A leading international marine insurance company acknowledged as leaders in their chosen markets, are working with GRS to recruit a Senior Claims & Legal Advisor, for their Limassol operation. The successful candidate will have a minimum of 3 years of post-qualified experience with a maritime or insurance focus. MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Provide efficient, cost-effective claims handling services involving all of the insured services covered by the company, including but not limited to, ship broking, ship agency and ship management risks, some aviation risks and offshore risks.
  • Deliver specific and general advice appropriate to the members’ business needs.
  • Manage relationships with external lawyers and other suppliers.
  • Ensure productive relationships with members and insurance brokers approach to claims handling.
  • Conduct training both at claims team meetings and specially arranged sessions.
  • Provide back up for claims administration.
  • Produce loss prevention and guidance materials and seminars for both internal and external audiences.
  • Provide some underwriting support with assistance from the claims team in London.
CANDIDATE PROFILE
  • Qualified as a lawyer to practice in Cyprus, and ideally England and Wales.
  • Minimum 3 years post qualification experience, either at a law firm or in-house, ideally with a professional services/professional negligence or transport focus.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Strong analytical and organisational skills.
  • Good command of English language, if not the first language.
  • Ability to develop good working relationships across all levels of seniority.
  • Able to operate effectively within a team environment.
  • A strong personal drive to succeed.
  • Ability to negotiate.
  • Ability to speak publicly.
  • Effective at working under pressure and balancing competing workload demands.
