MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Corporate & Commercial Legal

Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of legal and corporate documentation.

Handle company incorporations, restructurings, redomiciliations, and ongoing corporate administration matters.

Advise management and clients on corporate governance and regulatory matters.

Liaise with external counsel, regulators, banks, auditors, and service providers in Cyprus and internationally.

Support transactional and cross-border corporate work where required.
Compliance / AML / KYC
-
Oversee and manage client onboarding and due diligence procedures.

Conduct and review KYC, AML, and source of wealth/source of funds documentation.

Ensure compliance with applicable Cyprus and EU regulatory frameworks.

Monitor and implement internal compliance policies and procedures.
-
Conduct compliance reviews and risk assessments.
-
Assist with regulatory filings, reporting obligations, and responses to competent authorities.

Maintain up-to-date knowledge of AML, sanctions, GDPR, and compliance developments.
Internal Advisory & Risk Management

Provide practical legal and compliance guidance to management and operational teams.

Identify legal and regulatory risks and recommend mitigation measures.

Assist in developing and maintaining internal policies, controls, and governance frameworks.

Support the promotion of ethical business practices and regulatory compliance culture throughout the organization.
CANDIDATE PROFILE
-
Law degree (LLB or equivalent); postgraduate qualification will be considered an advantage.

Qualified lawyer / admitted to a Bar Association in Cyprus

Minimum 5–8 years’ experience in: Corporate law, Commercial law and Compliance / AML / KYC matters

Experience within a law firm, corporate services provider, fiduciary services firm, or regulated environment.

Strong knowledge of Cyprus corporate and AML legislation.

Excellent drafting, analytical, and organizational skills.

Ability to manage multiple matters simultaneously and work under pressure.

Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Fluency in Greek and English is essential

Familiarity with maritime, insurance, or financial services sectors is an advantage.

Exposure to regulated entities and compliance monitoring functions is an advantage.

Understanding of sanctions compliance and risk-based compliance frameworks is an advantage.

Compliance qualification e.g. AML Certification by the Cyprus Bar association or other is considered an advantage.
