The successful candidate will take ownership of the company's production database infrastructure, ensuring high availability, security, performance and reliability across multiple database platforms. This role is ideal for an experienced DBA who enjoys managing mission-critical environments and driving database best practices.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Administer, maintain and optimise Microsoft SQL Server, MySQL and MariaDB production database environments, ensuring maximum availability, reliability and performance.

Monitor database health, identify performance bottlenecks, and implement tuning strategies to optimise queries, indexing and database configuration.

Design, implement and maintain high availability, replication and disaster recovery solutions, including backup, recovery and business continuity planning.

Manage database security, user access, encryption and auditing, ensuring compliance with company policies and industry best practices.

Plan and execute database upgrades, migrations, patching and capacity planning with minimal disruption to business operations.

Automate routine database administration tasks and maintain monitoring solutions to proactively identify and resolve issues.

Collaborate with software development and infrastructure teams to support database deployments, releases and environment improvements.

Troubleshoot and resolve complex database incidents, providing root cause analysis and implementing preventative measures.

Produce and maintain database documentation, operational procedures and technical standards to support governance and knowledge sharing.
CANDIDATE PROFILE

6+ years' experience as a Senior Database Administrator

Expert SQL Server Administration

Strong MySQL and/or MariaDB Administration

Experience with High Availability architectures

Linux administration knowledge

SALARY AND BENEFITS

€40,000 - €60,000 Gross Per Annum
