GRS Recruitment are working in partnership with an International Luxury Brand who are looking to recruit a Senior Legal Counsel to become part of their International Team. The successful candidate will contribute with the in-house legal team in keeping Group companies’ activities in strict compliance with legislation in force and in providing legal advice for the various entities of the group plus provide full legal service to a number of departments and operating Units. MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Draft, review and edit contracts, legal correspondences and other legal documents and ensure they are in compliance with all statutory or legal requirements.
  • Coordinate and follow up with external legal counsel (local and international) in order to ensure provision of timely and proper legal services to the group and to implement that advice in transaction documents.
  • Counsel management whenever legally unsound decisions or plans are being made or when changes in the law occur.
  • Supervise preparation of the defense in litigation; work with outside counsel to develop the defense, brief and guide them and supervise their work.
  • Assist in court trials and recommend whether a case should be tried or settled.
  • Provide research, factual information, counsel, and guidance on legal questions or issues.
  • Prepare memoranda, initial drafts, and final drafts of legal documents.
  • Maintain client contact to receive work, render opinions, and consult and advise; some work handled without supervision or consultation.
  • Provide legal advice to the various entities of the group, review, prepare and negotiate agreements and legal documents.
  • Review and advice in order to ensure appropriate legal policies and practices are in place.
  • Manage the legal obligations and legal risks of the department.
  • Liaise with relevant departments in order to take appropriate action whenever a risk is identified.
  • Give legal advice with respect to contracts, commercial law, labor law, land use, intellectual property and internal policies.
  • Review ongoing cases and advice management accordingly.
  • Conduct legal researches and check legislation points.
  • Coordinate and ensure Trademarks protection.
  • Monitor the work of other team members.
  • Draft minutes of meetings of the Board and Ordinary General Assembly and Extraordinary General Assembly.
  • Draft the powers of attorneys.
  • Provide support for bid responses and negotiations.
CANDIDATE PROFILE
  • Must be a holder of a Law Degree.
  • Extensive years of experience with the legal profession.
  • Fluency in English is a must, Arabic and French is an asset.
  • Exceptional MS Office Skills.
