On behalf of our client, an innovating Forex Broker company based in Limassol, GRS are seeking to recruit a Senior Legal Officer. The ideal candidate must have previous experience in a Legal role within the Forex industry. Experience with CySEC and other regulators is important. MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Provide expert and professional legal advice, guidance and support to ensure that the legal and reputational risk faced are identified, reported and mitigated. To be the accountable lawyer to the executives of the area on all legal issues that the investment firm business face

Working knowledge of MIFID II and CySEC related regulations is a must, while FSA, FCA IFSC related regulations will be considered as an advantage

Assist in the day to day legal and regulatory activities of the company/group and handle all corporate legal processes

Draft and review corporate documents, commercial contracts and manage complex contract negotiations with customers, partners and key suppliers

Prepare and submit clear, timely and actionable legal opinions and advice on corporate, commercial, banking and finance issues

Review new regulations, their application and advising on how these may affect the company’s operations

Collaborate and communicate with external legal advisers and corporate service providers on various legal and other issues

Undertake ad hoc duties as may be reasonably requested by the Head of the Legal department

Providing guidance and training to staff and management on regulatory matters
CANDIDATE PROFILE
-
Degree in Law any other relevant field
-
At least 5 years of post-qualification legal experience in a business environment, at least 2 of them in a similar role preferably at an international investment firm or international consulting/law-firm

Relevant CySEC certificates will be considered an advantage

Strong background and expertise in investment firm legislation, brokerage, payments and financial services regulations

Knowledge and experience of financial, corporate and securities law concepts and a working knowledge of the laws of Cyprus and EU

Ability to identify relevant business and legal issues proactively, evaluate the risks and find creative solutions particularly to novel situations
-
Experience in working across multiple jurisdictions

Knowledge of IT / IP / Data protection law and regulations are a significant plus

High degree of professional ethics and integrity

Strong negotiation and contract drafting skills

Fluency in reading, writing and speaking English language

Strong personality with doer personality aspects and a team player

Ability to effectively and proactively supervise external service providers

Attention to detail; exceptional communication skills
