On behalf of our Client, a Software and Hardware Provider currently under further expansion, GRS are currently seeking to recruit a Senior Principal Engineer for their Limassol based team. The successful candidate will be part of the R&D Engineering team and will work on challenging development topics in a dynamic and cross-functional team of technical experts. The position opens up the opportunity to gain a broad insight into different applications of small cells to solve real life problems. The successful candidate will have a Masters/Bachelor's degree in Engineering with 8+ years of experience in LTE/NR Layer1 controller, MAC/RLC/RRC layer software development and will be a highly motivated technical person with positive attitude, strong interests in problem solving and very good comprehension skills. MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The specific task would be the development and maintenance of LTE eNodeB/5g NR gNodeB Access Stratum thin layer protocol stack, which comprises:
- Working closely with the customer interaction team to understand the customer needs, define product requirements and involve in Design, Coding and Testing the same.
- Work closely with software and test teams to review software & test design and help meeting the requirements in the end product.
- Understand current implementation & limitations, identify problem areas and come up with improvements for effective software maintenance.
- Analyse the root cause of issues reported by the customer or internal verification team and provide corresponding fixes in the code.
- Create and update documentation like functional and detailed design specifications.
- Other duties or tasks as assigned on need basis.
CANDIDATE PROFILE
- Master's /Bachelor's degree in Engineering with 8+ years of experience in LTE/NR Layer1 controller, MAC/RLC/RRC layer software development.
- Solid knowledge and understanding of 3GPP specifications related to LTE/NR.
- Knowledge of LTE/NR PHY or UMTS/GSM Access Stratum specifications is an added advantage.
- Strong experience in C programming, IPC mechanisms on Linux/RTOS/embedded environment.
- Strong Design and Debugging skills are required.
- Good understanding of best practice in software engineering processes, e.g. Agile methodologies, Version control, Testing and Release cycles.
- Good communication skills, Willingness to learn, work independently as well as in a team.
