MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Planning, leading, organizing and controlling the Training Department
  • Evaluating, planning and executing training projects
  • Ensuring that in-house courses are continuously analyzed and updated in line with industry requirements and international regulations
  • Promoting and supporting efforts for continual improvement
  • Overseeing and managing training budgets
  • Maintaining regular contact with appropriate training facilities and evaluating training providers
  • Ensuring that training centres and courses are being evaluated
  • Development of muster list for cruise vessels
  • Development of safety management software, competency matrix and contingency manual for cruise vessels
  • As required deliver on board training for cruise vessel clients
  • Ensuring that non-conformities, observations and customer complaints are investigated and timely followed-up
  • Implementing the Company’s Management System including development of new or the amendments to existing procedures
  • Supporting crewing superintendents and other departments for the verification and monitoring of crew certificates 
  •  Monitoring industry regulations and communicating new training requirements to all parties concerned
  • Overseeing the cadet program including selection and recruitment of new cadets in co-operation with the cadetship coordinator
  • In port manning management for cruise ships
  • Management of the CBT (LMS) and main contact with One Learn Global
  • Support CCS with cruise position interviews
  • Advise on cruise training costs to clients
CANDIDATE PROFILE
  • Seagoing experience in a management position, or a university degree and experience in the maritime industry of not less than five years
  • Experience in cruise and or passenger vessel training management and design
  • A good command of the English language
  • Good leadership, communication and interpersonal skills
  • Conversant with applicable international and national rules and regulations
  • Sufficient experience and knowledge in course designing
  • Qualified Trainer as per IMO model course 6.09
