DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Working closely with the Management on the technical aspects of all VAT‑related work, including contributing to the drafting and enhancement of internal procedures

Managing and overseeing the VAT compliance work carried out by junior team members across a diverse client portfolio

Handling complex VAT matters, including advisory work, cross‑border VAT implications, sector‑specific VAT treatment, and analysis of legislative changes

Reviewing VAT returns, VAT recapitulative statements, and related submissions

Assisting clients with VAT registrations, deregistrations, and ongoing statutory requirements

Liaising with tax authorities on VAT compliance matters, audits, queries, and investigations

Attending meetings with clients to discuss VAT positions, compliance requirements, and provide guidance as required
CANDIDATE PROFILE
-
Fully qualified accountant
-
Minimum of two years’ experience working specifically within VAT or indirect taxation
-
Possession of a professional qualification or certification in taxation.

Strong knowledge of VAT legislation, especially Maltese and EU VAT frameworks
-
Proficient in MS Word, MS Excel and Outlook
-
Excellent written and spoken English
