On behalf of our Client, a leading vessel operator with a long history in the shipping industry with offices in Europe and the United States, GRS are currently seeking to recruit a Ship Operator. The successfully candidate will be based in their newly established Limassol offices and will be responsible for coordinating the day-to-day operational activities, liaising with any external agents and marine technical superintendents to ensure efficient commercial operations. MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Undertake voyage planning to meet international regulations and respond to vessel issues
  • Handle bunkers optimisation
  • Review stowage planning
  • Coordinate Agency appointments
  • Provide Voyage Orders to vessels
  • Monitor vessels performance during all voyages i.e., speed and consumptions
  • Handle questionnaires, certificates, LOI’s and all relevant supporting documents
  • Update company’s software with required data  
  • Liaise with customers (internal and external) on cargo readiness, vessel schedules etc.
  • Optimise utilisation of resources
  • Prepare ship position updates
 
CANDIDATE PROFILE
  • University graduate in a relevant field
  • Minimum 2-3 years’ experience in a similar position
  • Fluent in Russian and English languages
  • IT system literacy
  • Extremely strong communication skills / quantitative abilities
  • Strong business acumen and has a commercial approach
  • Ability to work in a challenging, fast paced, high pressure environment
  • Capable of negotiating firmly but politely with international customers
