An international Fintech firm is searching for a talented .NET Developer to join their team in Malta. You will report to the Engineering Manager where you will play a critical role in the development of an eMoney and FX payment system. You will contribute to building scalable and secure software solutions that meet industry standards and regulatory requirements and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software and will be involved in mentoring junior engineers and contributing to team success. The ideal candidate will have a degree in Computer Science, have at least 2 years’ experience using .NET (ideally from within Fintech or Payments and experience on Cloud platforms. MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Design, develop, and maintain high-quality payment systems, ensuring they are scalable, secure, and compliant with financial regulations.
  • Collaborate with engineering managers and project teams to implement technical standards, ensuring consistency and adherence to best practices throughout the software development lifecycle.
  • Assist in mentoring junior engineers and provide constructive feedback to foster professional growth within the team.
  • Conduct code reviews to maintain code quality and ensure adherence to secure development practices.
  • Gather and analyze requirements from cross-functional teams, ensuring that designs align with business objectives and operational needs.
  • Utilize data modeling techniques to improve data handling and performance within transaction processing systems.
  • Monitor and analyze system performance metrics, identifying opportunities for optimization and improvement.
  • Participate in architectural discussions and reviews, providing input on design decisions and technical direction.
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders regarding project progress, challenges, and technical concepts.
CANDIDATE PROFILE
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in software engineering within a .NET stack. Experience within the fintech, asset management, FX, payment processing, or eMoney sectors would be preferred.
  • Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP) and microservices architecture, with a focus on building scalable applications.
  • Ability to develop features independently without supervision.
  • Solid understanding of software design principles, patterns and secure development practices.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, able to convey technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across teams, fostering strong working relationships.
  • Proven ability to collaborate effectively across departments and build strong relationships with colleagues and partners.
