DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Analysis
-
Continuously determine operational objectives by studying business functions; gathering information; evaluating output requirements and formats, in alignment with industry regulations and standards.

Receive and workshop technology needs and requirements from the business and unit managers. Utilise effective problem-solving methodology to understand complex scenarios with the aim of creating efficiencies.

Improve systems by researching best practices and recommending appropriate technology solutions, whether by implementing new software, systems, technology, robotic process automation or business process changes.

Actively take initiative in collaborating with relevant internal stakeholders.
-
Effectively and continuously document all discussions and decisions regarding solutions which are designed or considered for implementation. Where relevant, maintain system protocols by writing and updating procedures.
Solutions Design
-
Create and present solutions specifications to relevant stakeholders, upon completion of analysis process.

Collaborate with inter-departmental teams and stakeholders to explore internal design opportunities as well as external products and solutions which may be used and/or better suited for purpose.

At all times, adhere to and advise the business of best practice development methodologies and standards.

Utilise project management methodologies to define requirements, compiling budgets, identifying project milestones such as rollout phases, success elements.

Analyse and identify software defects arising from production issues and pass on to DevOps as needed for corrective action. Ensure that relevant end user testing is effective and signed off at all times.
Solutions implementation

Take an active role in forming and directing project teams, as well as monitoring progress in line with the project plan.

Create and maintain feedback mechanisms so that deviations or challenges may be appropriately managed and communicated to all stakeholders in a timely manner.

Create and maintain user documentation (such as manuals). Train support staff on new solutions / products that have been implemented, enabling them to provide help desk support.

Where relevant, create and provide training modules for end users.

Compile and collaborate with relevant internal stakeholders to produce release note documentation, clearly showing new features, bug fixes and other relevant changes.
General

Manage queries relating to the solutions / products and services provided to the business.

Maintain professional and technical competence by attending relevant educational workshops (as approved); reviewing professional publications; nurturing professional networks; benchmarking best practices; participating in professional societies.
CANDIDATE PROFILE
-
Essential - Relevant tertiary IT qualification or post-graduate Certificate/Diploma in Business Process Analysis from industry-recognized training institution

Preferred - User Experience, UI creation, project management modules or courses

Essential - 1-5 years working as a Business Analyst or related role; Senior Solutions and Design Analyst will require 3 years working at a supervisory level

Experience in communicating with clients and facilitating workshops

Understanding of best practices in the software development lifecycle.

Understanding of software requirement and development processes, including agile methodologies.

Structured and solution-oriented approach to problem solving.

Critical thinking skills, having the ability to formulate business domain requirements into a logical framework.

Multi-tasking skills, managing delivery of multiple projects/tasks simultaneously.

Ability to translate technical documentation into logically structured, precise user documentation using standards such as Unified Modelling Language etc.

Deadline focus, working within agreed deadlines at a consistent pace to deliver quality results on time.
