MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Leading cases of manipulation of sports competitions
- Liaising with monitoring bodies, regulators, operators, sporting associations, the national platform, integrity bodies and law enforcement about sports integrity
- Ensuring that the team operates in a compliant manner as per GDPR and any other relevant data protection legislation
- Keeping record and analysing all statistics pertinent to the day-to-day doings of the Sports Betting Integrity team
- Initiating and leading training programmes or outreach initiatives related to sports betting integrity and related fields
- Keeping abreast with developments, policies and procedures issued by EU institutions, the Government of Malta, its authorities and entities as well as organisations and constituted bodies, especially those affecting the sports integrity sphere
- Representing in meetings, panels, keynotes and other initiatives relating to sports integrity both locally and abroad
- Providing evidence to law enforcement and the courts when requested
- Assisting other departments as necessary
- Carrying out any other duties/tasks as may be instructed from time to time by Management
CANDIDATE PROFILE
- Passionate about sport!
- Holder of a Degree level of education or equivalent (MQF Level 6) or higher in Law, Criminology or a related area
- At least two years’ experience in the betting industry, either within a trading, integrity, or regulatory role
- Prior experience with a betting monitoring body or a regulatory role is considered an asset
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced and changing environment
- Ability to think and act strategically
- Ability to take ownership and is action-oriented
- Ability to identify, organise and present findings and recommendations in a concise manner (both verbal and written)
- Be highly motivated, well presented and with good communication skills
- Fluent in English
- Leads and develops others
