GRS Recruitment is currently partnering with a government division in Malta with ties to European statistics governance and statistics. There are now excellent opportunities to step into, and grow a career within a government organization with indefinite career progression and benefits as a Statistician. The ideal candidates would come from an educational background of; Banking and Finance, Mathematics, Statistics and Operations Research, Engineering, Economics, Accountancy, and Information Technology or similar, and can be a graduate with limited work experience if at least in possession of MQF Level 6 or higher education. MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Designing methods and procedures for obtaining data, such as surveys and administrative sources.
  • Contributing to the development of innovative data collection and analytical tools.
  • Verifying data for inaccuracies and applying statistical methods to address such limitations.
  • Analysing data in economic, business, and social fields, in both aggregate and raw form.
  • Contributing to the writing of reports and the preparation of data for publication.
  • Helping to build confidence in statistics using the guidelines and the principles of the European Statistics Code of Practice.
  • Identifying client needs and presenting findings.
  • Interpreting statistical analysis for policy development.
  • Participating in and contributing to research.
  • Following and taking part in national and international statistical initiatives.
 
CANDIDATE PROFILE
  • Ideally have 1-3 years of relevant experience in a similar role or;
  • Be in possession of a recognised Certificate at MQF Level 6 or higher in a relevant subject area (candidates who have not yet formally obtained the qualifications specified heretofore will still be considered, provided that they submit evidence that they are in the final phase of their course leading to such qualifications)
  • Demonstrate a good command of the English language, together with Maltese or another official European language.
  • Prospective applicants should note the requirement to produce MQRIC recognition statements in respect of their qualifications from MQRIC, or other designated authorities, as applicable, as per provisions applicable to this call for applications
