A leading Bank / EMI is searching for a Strategy & Market Intelligence Analyst to join the expanding Finance department. The role will be broad and varied allowing you the opportunity to work with senior stakeholders and play a key role in financial and deal modelling and analysis across this growing group. The perfect fit will have experience in the Payments (or Cards) sector, be great using Tableau or Power BI and have at least 5 years’ experience in a similar role. MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Run and build on the current revenue forecasting model.
  • Work closely with the account management, product, marketing and commercial teams to analyse revenue driving data, provide commercial insight and identify underlying trends to support strategic decision-making.
  • Develop dashboards for analysis and reporting of revenue related data.
  • Assist in developing meaningful commercial and financial KPIs and metrics
  • Monitor, interpret and report of metrics and KPIs against targets and identify corrective action where necessary.
  • Support with maintaining, building and reviewing deal models.
  • Support with pricing modelling for new products and evaluating ad-hoc bespoke pricing requests.
  • Supporting the finance team with other ad-hoc commercial related activities.
CANDIDATE PROFILE
  • Degree or equivalent in Business, Finance, Accounting or highly analytical field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role.
  • Commercial mindset.
  • Excellent critical thinking and creative problem solving skills.
  • Ability to think creatively and build financial models from scratch.
  • Excellent analytical skills, including the ability to tell the story behind numbers.
  • Experience in setting commercial terms for deals.
  • High proficiency in the use of Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple competing priorities simultaneously and to completion.
  • Excellent command of verbal, written and interpersonal communication in English.
  • Knowledge in the Payments industry, including card schemes, issuing and acquiring would be considered a plus.
  • Experience using dashboard and reporting tools such as Power BI, Tableau, Metabase or similar will be considered an asset..
  • Experience in deals desk, management consulting, strategy consulting or FP&A.
  • Experience in SQL will be considered an asset.
  • Preference will be given to candidates located in Malta or within +/- 1 CET time difference.
