On behalf of our client who aids and advises Gaming companies GRS are looking for a Tax Compliance Officer to join their team in Malta. You will be responsible to ensure coherence and compliance of the operator’s financial obligations, and to assist the Tax Compliance Senior Executive in identifying and mitigate any potential tax leakages. The ideal candidate will have a Degree level or higher in Accountancy. MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Responsible for the Monitoring and reviewing of Financial Compliance obligations for both Remote and Land Based Gaming operators, whilst assisting in the implementation of new procedures and subsequent monitoring in ensuring that appropriate taxes are being reported to the Authority;
  • Review of the operators’ tax declarations on a monthly basis for information related to submission and non-submission of compliance contribution reports;
  • Preparation of monthly monitoring of revenue categorised into types, including preparation and monitoring of revenue-related key performance indicators (KPI);
  • Identification of exceptions in the monitoring sheets and analysis sheets for review of the Tax Compliance Senior Executive for appropriate review;
  • Sending to the Credit Control the amount of compliance contribution, Mt Tax and duties to be billed for the month.
  • Preparation of the cumulative amounts of compliance contribution and duties for the preparation of the monthly accrual.
  • Maintenance and updating of the company Portal and Compliance Contribution Reports.
  • Assist the Tax Compliance Senior Executive with the updating of the Compliance Risk Matrix.
  • Assist the Tax Compliance Senior Executive with the reviewing of the AUP’S documents submitted by operators.
  • Assist the Tax Compliance Senior Executive in the conduction of on-site tax compliance Audits and Desktop Reviews whilst report findings where necessary;
  • Coordination with key personnel from the other departments with respect to all matters affecting land-based and remote-gaming operators;
  • Participates in focus groups, project teams, group and section meetings and attends all training sessions as and when requested.
  • Performing other duties as required or directed by the Authority and appointee's superior whilst ensuring that all deadlines are met in a timely manner, even if this requires working after normal office hours.
CANDIDATE PROFILE  
  • Degree level or higher in Accountancy.
  • Proficiency in the use of accounting systems and other IT systems shall be considered an asset.
  • Capable of working within a team, manage multiple engagements and work to demanding deadlines.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced and changing environment.
  • Ability to identify and report on sensitive issues with an eye for detail.
  • Smart, highly motivated, well presented and with good communication skills.
  • Thinks and acts strategically.
