On behalf of our Client, a well-established Shipping Company with International operations, GRS Recruitment are seeking to recruit a Vessel Accountant to be based in Limassol. MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Prepare and maintain accurate financial records for assigned vessels, monitor vessel operating costs against approved budgets, track accruals, prepayments and any outstanding liabilities
- Manage vessel cash flow, including forecasting, monitoring, and ensuring sufficient funds are available to meet financial obligations.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting standards and maritime regulations.
- Collaborate with the CFO and other teams across the organization to prepare the annual vessel budgets and cashflow forecasts, analyze deviations and report cost overruns to management.
- Verify and process vessel related invoices
- Ensure timely payments to suppliers, agents and service providers
- Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies
- Assist with internal and external audits related to vessel accounts.
- Maintain proper documentation for audits and inspections
- Liaise with technical and operations departments
CANDIDATE PROFILE
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance or related field
- 5 years of accounting experience in ship management / maritime industry
- Strong knowledge of vessel OPEX, maritime cost structures
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Knowledge of Danaos Software or any other Shipping software will be considered an advantage.
