MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Responsible for the financial coordination of vessels freight income and operational expenses from cargo operations.
- Communication with agents, terminals and customers.
- The responsibility expands to collect, review and process the invoices received and to establish / monitor the cash flow for each vessel in the service daily.
- Responsible for the financial overview-, monitoring and control of all the vessel operations in the liner service
- Responsible to report and resolve any financial discrepancies and/or other problems to the relevant Department
- Maintain accurate records of vessel data and documentation, which is reconciled and reviewed with the accounting department on a regular basis
- Preparation and comparison of vessel forecasts vs actual results
- Preparation and monitoring of cash flow for the liner operations of all vessels
- Coordinate with shipping agents, ports, terminals to ensure compliance with schedules
- Coordinate with customers to ensure freight is received on time
- Handle cargo control – oversee booking confirmations, bill of lading issues, cargo discrepancies etc.
- Liaise with internal departments – operations, commercial, chartering, finance and maintain service reliability Review proforma invoices from suppliers and ensure final invoices are received and reviewed on a timely basis
- Plan for weekly payments to cover the operations of each vessel
CANDIDATE PROFILE
- Previous experience in a similar position in a Shipping Company, relevant experience in freight forwarding and familiarity with international trade regulations, Incoterms, Bill of Ladings etc.
- Good command of English language
- Good communication and interpersonal skills for liaising with various stakeholders, clients and suppliers
- Excellent knowledge of computers and familiarity with shipping/account softwares/systems (preferable Oracle)
- Excellent organisational and multitasking abilities to handle varied workloads under pressure
- Attention to detail
- Analytical mindset for problem-solving and prioritising tasks
- Strong admin and operational background
- Degree in maritime is often preferred but not required
- Ability to work irregular hours but flexible
- This role is critical for maintaining the reliability and efficiency of scheduled liner services, where delays can impact the entire network. It is often office-based, with occasional site visits to terminals or ports
