Our client is a specialist insurance organisation operating within the European Yacht and Marine Trades sector, with a growing international portfolio across Greece, Ireland, and wider Europe.
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Account Handler to manage and support a diverse portfolio of yacht and marine trade clients. The successful candidate will work closely with both direct clients and broker partners, delivering a high level of technical service and account management support across a specialist international book of business.
The role will initially be fully remote based in Cyprus, with potential future hybrid or office-based arrangements as the business continues to expand locally.
 
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Manage and service a portfolio of Yacht and Marine Trades insurance clients across Europe, including both direct and broker-led business
  • Handle day-to-day account management tasks including renewals, mid-term adjustments, and client/broker queries
  • Liaise with in-house underwriting facilities and international insurance markets to negotiate terms and secure competitive placements
  • Prepare, review, and issue insurance documentation including quotations, slips, endorsements, and supporting reports
  • Provide technical guidance to clients and brokers on coverage, risk exposure, and marine policy structures
  • Ensure all business is conducted in line with regulatory, legal, and internal compliance standards
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records across internal systems and CRM platforms
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with clients, brokers, and international insurer partners
  • Support retention activity and identify opportunities for cross-selling and account development
CANDIDATE PROFILE
  • Proven experience within international yacht insurance markets is essential
  • Strong background in general insurance with exposure to liability lines including Public Liability, Employers’ Liability, and Professional Indemnity
  • Experience managing both personal and commercial insurance accounts, including renewals and new business placements
  • Previous experience working with both direct clients and broker channels
  • Fluent in Greek and English (written and spoken) is essential
  • Strong understanding of European and London insurance markets
  • Excellent communication and relationship management skills across international stakeholders
  • High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and organisational ability
  • Ability to work independently and effectively in a remote environment
  • Commercial awareness and genuine interest in marine and yacht insurance
