A long-standing company operating within the construction and real estate industry is working in partnership with GRS to hire an Accountant for their Nicosia based team. This position offers an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented and motivated professional to contribute to the accuracy, compliance, and efficiency of our accounting processes. Working closely with the Chief Accountant and cross-functional teams, you will be involved in a wide range of financial tasks while gaining valuable experience within a collaborative environment that values quality, integrity, and continuous development.
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Maintain accurate accounting records on a daily basis.

Process invoices, receipts, payments, and journal entries.

Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable.

Reconcile bank statements, supplier statements, and customer accounts.

Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.

Assist the Chief Accountant in the preparation of VAT returns and tax-related queries.

Monitor expenses and identify variances from budget.
-
Assist in implementing and maintaining internal financial controls.

Prepare schedules, reports, and documentation for internal and external audits.

Assist with year-end closing procedures.

Cooperate with other departments, especially procurement and project teams, regarding financial matters.

Maintain proper filing and documentation of accounting records.

Support ad‑hoc finance tasks as requested.
CANDIDATE PROFILE
-
A bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance–related field with 2-3 years of relevant experience, OR LCCI Higher (or equivalent qualification) combined with at least 3 years of prior experience in a similar role.

Basic knowledge of Cyprus VAT and tax framework.

Practical experience with accounting software or ERP systems.

Tech-savvy with MS Excel skills.

Excellent command of both Greek and English, verbal and written.

Strong communication skills, and attention to detail.
