DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Using Xledger accounting software for bookkeeping and accounting for rig related subsidiaries.
- Management of Intercompany process with external rig managers.
- Managing payments of interest and instalments on the rig loans
- Monitoring of cash and treasury management of the rigs
- Preparation of additional supporting schedules for reviews and providing explanations and analysis as required to support key stakeholders.
- Reporting into the Group accounting office in London and maintaining the Group's compliance with US GAAP and Sarbanes Oxley requirements within Cyprus’s remit
- Processing of invoices and payments related to the rig operating expenses
- Involvement with the preparation of statutory accounts and local tax filings
- Liaising with external auditors and preparation of audit support schedules and working papers.
- Assistance in ad hoc tasks and maintenance of additional schedules as required.
CANDIDATE PROFILE
- Qualified accountant with professional certification (ACCA, ACA)
- Experience working in shipping or a related maritime industry
- Strong understanding of shipping accounting principles and financial reporting
- A high level of proficiency in English, both written and spoken is essential
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
- Proficient in accounting software and MS Office applications, especially Excel
- Good communication skills and ability to work effectively within a team
- Experience from a large Audit firm is preferrable
- Ability to adapt to a dynamic and fast-paced environment
