On behalf of our client, a successful auditing firm based in Nicosia, GRS are seeking an Accountant to join their growing team.  The successful candidate will have at least 2 years of relevant working experience and a bachelor’s degree in accounting.  If you are interested in taking the next step for your career and joining a professional company which provides training and development, then this is the job for you!  We look forward to receiving your CV for this Nicosia based Accountant role. 
  • Liaise with clients to obtain information needed for the accounting and for the Company’s AML procedures.
  • Perform simplified and Enhanced Due Diligence for AML purposes.
  • Perform the transaction monitoring in accordance with the Firm’s AML policies and procedures.
  • Analyse complex financial reports and records.
  • Review journal entries of Junior Accountants to ensure accuracy.
  • Train junior staff.
  • Assist in the consultation of Junior Accountants.
  • Performing variance analyses and preparing account reconciliations.
  • Maintain accounting records and prepares accounts and management information.
  • Prepare General Ledgers and Trial Balances and management accounts on set time periods.
  • Provide assistance in the preparation of all documents required for the accounting: engagement letters, company documentation and other confirmation letters as accounting evidence.
  • Deal with Tax and VAT issues, ensuring compliance with Tax and VAT legislation.
  • Assist during the audit process by liaising with the Auditors and responding to any questions or queries they may have.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
  • Report to Senior Accountants / Accounting Managers.
  • Very good user of MS Office – Word, Excel, Outlook.
  • Very good user of Quickbooks.
  • Able to learn new software quickly (WiseBos – AML & Time Sheets).
  • Very good knowledge of IFRSs.
  • Very good knowledge of AML legislation.
  • Very good knowledge of ISQC1 and the Firm’s Quality Control Manual.
  • Effective communication skills both oral and written.
  • Ability to work in a team setting.

  • Pleasant personality with a “can do” attitude.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Able to work under pressure and in meeting deadlines.
  • High School Diploma.
  • Higher diploma in accounting.
  • Two years of related working experience.
  • Computer literacy.
  • Very good user of Greek and English language.
  • Office position.
  • Occasional inland travel to clients’ premises. Working hours are 8:30 a.m. – 17:30 p.m. (with one-hour lunch break between 13:00 p.m. – 14:00 p.m.), except Friday, where the working hours are from 8:30 a.m. – 14:30 p.m.
  • Friday early finish – 14.30 pm
