A long-established company with offices in Nicosia are working in partnership with GRS Recruitment to hire a qualified accountant for their Cyprus based team. The initial focus of the role will include traditional financial control responsibilities, including quarterly and annual reporting of actuals/budgets, corporate accounting, monitoring cash management, liquidity analysis and general financial administration duties. MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Preparation of annual accounts of 4 Cyprus companies and consolidated group accounts of real estate portfolios under IFRS.
  • Coordinate and participate in financial audits of both stand-alone and consolidated accounts ensuring compliance with audit standards and corporate governance.
  • Preparation of quarterly management accounts for the Cyprus companies.
  • Monitor and oversee loan performance reporting.
  • Review annual tax calculations of the Cyprus companies and oversee tax and payroll submissions.
  • Liaise with Cyprus and international service providers with regard to reporting requirements including Transfer Pricing, DAC6 or any others.
  • Oversee transaction posting and bank reconciliations.
  • Coordinate directly with other Group teams in Europe including Luxembourg, Germany and Denmark to ensure compliance with internal and external reporting deadlines.
  • Support subsidiary offices with related accounting functions and reporting.
CANDIDATE PROFILE
  • Holder of a University degree in Accounting or any other related field
  • 3-5 years’ experience in either audit, financial control or accounting, ideally with real estate exposure.
  • Fluency in English, both written and verbal. Fluency in German or Dutch will be considered an advantage.
  • Has experience of IFRS accounting and consolidation of group accounts.
  • Self-motivated and detail-oriented with strong follow-up skills.
  • Analytical and has the ability to produce analysis with appropriate style and language to support conclusions.
  • Strong process management/improvement skills with a mindset for continuous improvement.
  • Embrace collaborative sharing of knowledge within a team environment.
  • Proficient with Microsoft suite including Excel, Word and Outlook.
