A medium sized Accounting & Advisory firm, with a young and dynamic team is looking for a fully qualified accountant to form part of the Senior Management team and to co-manage the firm’s Accounts Department in Malta. You will, together with the other managers in the firm, be responsible to manage a portfolio of clients as well as the members of staff forming part of the accounting team. The ideal candidate will be ACCA qualified, have at least 4 years’ experience in a similar role and be fluent in English (Italian advantageous). MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Co-managing a team of 6 to 8 people
  • Ensuring compliance with accounting policies
  • Interacting with the firm’s directors, staff and clients
  • Supervising staff on a daily basis
  • Providing vat advice to clients when this is required
  • Liaising with auditors
  • Reviewing work carried out by members of staff
  • Planning work to ensure deadlines are met
  • Liaising with other departments within the firm
CANDIDATE PROFILE
  • A graduate from the University of Malta (Honours or Masters in Accountancy) or a holder of an ACCA degree
  • Holder of a warrant to practice Accountancy in Malta
  • A recognized qualification in Maltese Value Added Tax from one of the established professional institutions in Malta
  • Ability to work without supervision
  • Attention to detail
  • The ability to motivate staff
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Handling confidential information
  • Performing work under pressure
  • Solid understanding of GAPSME and IFRS
  • A thorough knowledge of Maltese VAT legislation
  • Strong prioritization and organization skills
