DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Providing ongoing and timely support to a portfolio of both local and international clients.
  • Managing the accounting team and monitoring performance. Providing feedback, guidance, coaching and mentoring as and when necessary.
  • Ensuring that all assigned tasks to the team are carried out within the pre-determined deadlines.
  • Liaising with external auditors in the course of the audit and being the main point of contact.
  • Reviewing the financial statements.
  • Handle optimal resource allocation.
  • Prepare legal documentation and other reports as required by the Companies’ Act and other relevant and applicable laws.
  • Overall responsibility for ensuring the quality of the Company’s accounting following IFRS’s, GAPSME and the Companies’ Act.
  • Assist with and oversee tax-related matters. Work closely with Tax Accountant.
  • Assist and support non-financial managers with the interpretation and provision of financial data.
  • Ensure the completion of the required yearly structured CPE core training hours
  • Perform any ad hoc requests by management that might arise from time to time.
CANDIDATE PROFILE
  • Qualified Accountant (ACCA or equivalent).
  • Proven experience in financial services or accounting management.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team.
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.
