Our client, a well-established shipping company based in Limassol, GRS Recruitment is seeking a dedicated and professional Accounts Officer. The ideal candidate is primarily responsible for posting and recording into the accounting system the Group’s non-trade supplier/creditor invoices that have been registered and approved. MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Ensure that invoices are recorded in a timely, accurate, and efficient manner in accordance with all relevant controls
  • Process and post expense claims (e.g., staff expense claims, travel expenses, visa expenses)
  • Responsible for maintaining and monitoring cash balances, facilitating cash receipts and payments, and ensuring that all transactions and balances are duly recorded in the accounting system with the corresponding accounting entries
  • Accurately posts financial transactions into the accounting system
  • Maintain organized records of all financial documents, including invoices, receipts, and statements
  • Process incoming invoices, ensuring they are accurate and match purchase orders or contracts
  • Prepare and issue supplier ageing analyses, ensuring timely processing
  • Monitor account balances and ensures financial data is accurate and up to date
  • Ensure that documents are easily accessible for audits and financial reviews
  • Maintain the fixed assets register for office capital expenditure, calculates, and posts the related depreciation charge for all Group fixed assets
  • Analyse monthly recurring expenditures (e.g., telephone costs, car fuel costs)
  • Run and post accruals
  • Check and processes staff expense claims
  • Check and processes visa expenses
  • Prepare and submits VAT returns
  • Act as archive administrator for company document storage
  • Maintain petty cash, records expenditures, and ensures fund transfers are properly documented
  • Issue receipts and maintains accurate transaction records
  • Assist with general office duties such as answering phone calls, responding to emails, and preparing correspondence related to accounting matters
  • Performs other administrative tasks as required by the accounting department
  • Provide general support to the Accounts Department as required by the CA and CFO
  • Implement the Group’s Management System and makes suggestions for improvements
CANDIDATE PROFILE
  • LCCI Intermediate and/or university degree in Accounting and/or Finance or another Business or Finance-related subject
  • Previous relevant experience will be considered an advantage
  • Ability to complete tasks effectively on a daily basis and meet deadlines
  • Ability to communicate effectively with internal and external customers and suppliers
  • Solid bookkeeping knowledge and experience with computerized accounting systems
  • Proficiency in spreadsheet applications is considered desirable
  • Good command of the Greek and English languages
