On behalf of our client, an International Wealth & Fund Management Firm based in Malta, GRS Recruitment are seeking an AML/Due Diligence Officer.  The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that prospective clients meet the organisation’s regulatory, legal, and internal risk requirements before onboarding. The role involves conducting due diligence, verifying client information, and ensuring compliance with anti-money laundering (AML), know-your-customer (KYC), and other risk management standards. MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILTIES
  • Performing client due diligence (CDD) and Know Your Customer (KYC) checks for new clients related to Funds, Corporate and Fiduciary through the requesting, collecting, filing, and reviewing all necessary documentation
  • Opening of bank accounts on behalf of clients as required
  • Assessing and mitigating risk levels associated with client onboarding
  • Reviewing and verifying documentation and identification records
  • Conducting AML screening (sanctions, PEPs, adverse media checks)
  • Ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies
  • Liaising with internal teams (legal, compliance, risk) to resolve issues or escalate high-risk cases
  • Maintaining accurate client records and ensure proper documentation
  • Monitoring updates to compliance regulations and apply them to processes
  • Supporting the manager, seniors and other officers as needed
  • Assisting in other ad-hoc duties as may arise due to the exigencies of the operation
CANDIDATE PROFILE
  • Strong knowledge of AML/KYC regulations with minimum 2 years of experience in similar role
  • High attention to detail and analytical thinking
  • Risk assessment skills
  • Ability to handle confidential information
  • Good communication and stakeholder coordination
  • Organisational and time-management skills
  • Proactive and able to take initiative, working both independently and collaboratively within a team
  • Strong administrative and business support skills, with the ability to multitask and perform well under pressure
  • Demonstrated willingness to learn new skills and take on increased responsibility
SALARY AND BENEFITS
  • €24,000 - €36,000 Gross Per Annum
  • Salary will be determined based on experience, qualifications, and skills. The advertised salary range is indicative, any offer will reflect the successful candidate’s suitability.
