An innovative software development company with offices in London and Limassol is working in partnership with GRS Recruitment to hire a Backend Software Development Engineer that is eager to learn and join a fast-growing company. MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Participate and contribute to design and code reviews to produce quality code

Conduct thorough testing of feature functionalities

Manage small projects
-
Work efficiently with peers to solve complex problems, as well as raising appropriate issues to the team-lead
CANDIDATE PROFILE
-
Demonstrable experience (1-3 years) writing objected-oriented code in Java using the Spring/Spring Boot framework (Kotlin is a plus)

Experience in building a backend service with Spring and deploying to production

Well-structured and readable coding, fitting into existing frameworks, adhering to best design patterns, and has good exception handling

Ability to test code appropriately (UnitTest with Mockito, familiar with concept of integration/end-to-end tests and Spring Boot Tests)

Observability experience looking after a system in Production

Be up-to-date with the latest development of technologies, and be interested in finding ways to apply them

Demonstrate a solid reasoning for your design choices, and always consider alternatives

Be able to identify and analyse issues in design/code, and start to debug others’ code
-
Be a strong communicator, highly dependable and enjoy working within a diverse team
-
Unix/Linux system administration experience will be considered an advantage

Working experience in an agile team with use of Jira or other similar issue tracking products will be considered an advantage

A Computer Science or other related degree will be considered an advantage
