Our client, one of the leaders in the Hospitality & Leisure sector in Malta, is looking for a CFO to be part of the Group. Our client is well-established in the hospitality sector with its own branded Hotels and Spas, as well as a variety of established restaurants. The ideal candidate will be responsible for financial strategy, financial planning and analysis, financial reports, company audits, compliance, and bank relationships. They will collaborate with the Group CFO and the executive team to make decisions regarding company's financial strategy and operations. MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Lead monitoring and responsibility for:
    • Management Accounts
    • Yearly Budgets
    • Cost Control
    • Payroll Reporting and Analysis
    • Cash Flow Statement
    • Debtors Collections
    • Creditors Payments
  • Establish a culture empowering budget holders and staff to deliver value for money services, including benchmark reporting and key cost drivers.
  • Follow up with Financial Controllers of all Hotel entities to ensure Group CFO's deadlines and tasks are met.
  • Ensure financial infrastructure supports future growth demands.
  • Finalize internal policies for the entire group, monitoring internal audit and reporting to Group CFO.
  • Collaborate with employees for positive change initiatives.
  • Lead changes instructed by Group CFO.
  • Lead preparation of yearly budget and regular forecasts with Department Heads and Group CFO.
  • Uphold internal and financial control environment.
  • Supervise Finance Department personnel in line with Group policies, accounting standards, and fiscal requirements.
  • Propose, draft, and execute policies and procedures for Finance Department in collaboration with Group CFO.
  • Identify and propose improvements to manual and electronic processes in Finance Department.
  • Perform ad hoc duties assigned by Group CFO.
  • Temporarily fulfil finance roles as assigned by Group CFO, if necessary
Manage, lead, and motivate Finance Department members in line with Group culture.
  • Provide effective leadership and operational management for the resources and performance team
  • Ensure staff adopt organizational values and expected behaviours for a high-performance culture.
  • Emphasize training as the core element to improve and sharpen the team's performance
CANDIDATE PROFILE
  • 3 to 5 years' experience in a similar role
  • Fully Qualified
  • Extensive experience in financial management, including management accounting, budgeting, cost control, and financial reporting.
  • Proficiency in payroll reporting, analysis, and cash flow management.
  • Demonstrated ability to monitor and analyse financial statements, including debtors collections and creditors payments
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify areas for improvement and propose solutions
  • Familiarity with internal policies and procedures development and implementation.
  • Knowledge of financial controls and compliance requirements
  • Strong leadership skills with experience in leading and managing finance teams.
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills to gain support for change initiatives.
  • Experience in working closely with executive leadership, particularly CFOs, to meet deadlines and fulfil tasks
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with employees across departments.
