GRS Recruitment is working in partnership with a leading organisation operating within the marine and energy services sector, headquartered in Limassol. Our client is currently seeking to recruit an experienced and detail-oriented Chief Accountant to join their established finance team.
This is an excellent opportunity for an accounting professional with 5–7 years’ experience to take the next step in their career within a structured and growing finance function. The successful candidate will play a key role in overseeing accounting operations, financial reporting, compliance and process improvements, while working closely with senior management and supporting the wider accounting team.
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Prepare and review monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements in accordance with IFRS and applicable accounting standards.

Oversee daily accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll and tax compliance activities.

Supervise and support members of the accounting team, ensuring accurate and timely completion of accounting processes.

Ensure compliance with financial regulations, internal policies and reporting requirements.

Develop and maintain effective internal controls to safeguard company assets and strengthen financial procedures.

Assist with budgeting, forecasting and financial analysis, including monitoring financial performance and reporting variances.

Coordinate internal and external audits, including preparation of audit schedules and responding to auditor requirements.

Oversee tax planning and compliance activities, ensuring the timely submission of required tax returns and filings.

Identify opportunities for process improvements and contribute to the development and implementation of improved accounting procedures.

Support ERP and accounting system upgrades and improvements, while providing accurate financial reporting and analysis to management.
CANDIDATE PROFILE

Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.

ACCA, ACA or equivalent professional accounting qualification.

5–7 years’ practical experience in accounting or finance roles.

Strong knowledge of IFRS and financial reporting requirements.

Previous experience supervising or mentoring accounting team members.

Strong understanding of accounting operations, including general ledger, reconciliations, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll and tax compliance.

Experience coordinating internal and external audits.

Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience working with ERP or accounting systems.

Strong financial analysis, analytical and problem-solving skills.

Excellent attention to detail and accuracy, with strong organisational skills.

Strong communication and reporting skills, with the ability to work effectively with internal stakeholders and external auditors.

Excellent command of English, both written and verbal.
COMPANY BENEFITS

€45,000–€50,000 Gross Per Annum

Salary will be determined based on experience, qualifications, and skills. The advertised salary range is indicative, any offer will reflect the successful candidate’s suitability

Structured working hours: Monday–Friday, 08:00–16:30, with one day per week 08:30–17:30.
