GRS Recruitment is partnering with a reputable accounting firm in Malta and are seeking a diligent and motivated Auditor to join our client’s team. The successful candidate will be involved in the planning and execution of audit engagements in accordance with International Standards on Auditing (ISAs), as well as the preparation of financial statements for clients. The ideal candidate will have previous experience in audit and a good understanding of accounting and auditing principles. The role provides exposure to a varied client portfolio and the opportunity to further develop technical and professional skills.
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Plan and perform audit engagements in accordance with applicable ISAs and professional requirements.
- Carry out audit procedures and obtain sufficient appropriate audit evidence.
- Prepare and maintain audit working papers and supporting documentation.
- Perform substantive and analytical audit procedures.
- Identify and communicate accounting and audit issues arising during engagements.
- Assist in assessing internal controls and identifying areas of audit risk.
- Prepare client financial statements and related disclosures.
- Liaise with clients to obtain information and documentation required for audit engagements.
- Assist with the completion of audit files within agreed deadlines.
- Communicate findings and recommendations to senior team members and clients where appropriate.
- Ensure audit work is completed to a high standard and in accordance with relevant professional requirements.
- Perform other accounting and audit-related duties as required.
CANDIDATE PROFILE
- Previous experience in an audit role is preferred.
- Good knowledge of accounting and auditing principles.
- Familiarity with International Standards on Auditing (ISAs).
- Understanding of financial statement preparation and applicable accounting standards.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Good organisational and time-management skills.
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- An accounting/audit qualification or relevant studies (e.g. ACCA) would be considered an asset.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and relevant accounting/audit software.
SALARY AND BENEFITS
- €40,000 - €50,000 Gross Per Annum.
- Salary will be determined based on experience, qualifications, and skills. The advertised salary range is indicative, any offer will reflect the successful candidate’s suitability.
