A company which provides assistance and advise to Gaming companies is searching for a Compliance Officer to join their team in Malta. You will report to the Senior Compliance Executive and be responsible for conducting compliance reviews of licensees, ensuring information on all licenses are up-to-date and that licensees are respecting the laws and regulations of the Authority and taking action where needed. The ideal candidate will have a degree level (MQF Level 6) or higher in Business/Management related subjects and at least a year’s experience in a compliance role. MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Ensuring that licensees are at all times compliant with the laws and regulations in accordance with the law;
  • Reviewing any due diligence documents and following up with the Criminal Probity Team for relevant vetting, in respect of licensees;
  • Financial monitoring in light of licensees’ obligations at law, including, inter-alia, financial standing and anti-money laundering considerations, and make recommendations, as applicable;
  • Maintaining information on all licensees up to date on the Company’s systems and databases’;
  • Offering investigative support to other areas of the Company as instructed by management.
  • Issuing regular compliance reports as instructed by management;
  • Co-ordinating with licensees and following up on changes within corporate entities, changes within the corporate structure, changes in directors, key persons, games and/or game providers, registered/operating addresses and other company statutory changes;
  • Participating in meetings and/or calls with prospective applicants and licensees and handling of general queries received via e-mail or telephone;
  • Liaising with licensees and other key stakeholders, keeping them abreast of changes in compliance requirements;
  • Keeping up to date with developments, policies and procedures issued by other institutions in relation to the industry;
  • Attending training, conferences and fora as required by the Company;
  • Contributing to the development and/ or maintaining processes and policies to achieve the objectives of the Department and in line with the changing requirements of the industry;
  • Carrying out tasks as instructed by the Senior Executive and Compliance Manager.
CANDIDATE PROFILE
  • Minimum educational level of MQF Level 6  
  • Qualifications related to  business, management, legal or finance will be considered an asset
  • Minimum One (1) year experience in a Compliance related role.
  • Experience in the gaming industry shall be considered an asset.
  • Experience in legal affairs, commerce and/or accountancy and/or finance shall be considered an asset.
  • Capable of working within a team, manage multiple engagements and work to demanding deadlines
  • Ability to identify high risk areas and organise and present findings and recommendations in a concise manner (both verbal and written);
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced and changing environment;
  • Think analytically and act strategically;
  • Smart, highly motivated, well presented and with good communication skills.
  • Takes ownership and is action oriented.
