A global Fintech firm is searching for a Compliance Officer & MLRO to join their team in Malta. In this pivotal role, you'll architect and implement robust compliance frameworks that enable innovation while ensuring unwavering adherence to regulatory requirements. Your expertise will be crucial in navigating complex regulatory landscapes across multiple jurisdictions, particularly in Malta and the EU, while supporting the company's ambitious growth plans. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years’ compliance experience in financial services, particularly in online trading or fintech and have strong knowledge of EU financial regulations, AML/CFT requirements, and corporate law. MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Lead the development and implementation of cutting-edge compliance programs that protect our business and customers
  • Partner with senior leadership to navigate complex regulatory challenges and turn them into opportunities for growth
  • Guide teams across multiple jurisdictions in maintaining the highest standards of regulatory compliance
  • Conduct sophisticated risk assessments and develop strategic mitigation plans
  • Design and deliver engaging compliance training that transforms complex regulations into clear, actionable guidance
  • Spearhead the evolution of our AML/CFT framework to stay ahead of emerging threats
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with regulatory bodies, particularly the MFSA
CANDIDATE PROFILE
  • Bring 5+ years of compliance experience in financial services, particularly in online trading or fintech
  • Have deep knowledge of EU financial regulations, AML/CFT requirements, and corporate law
  • Demonstrate excellent judgment in complex regulatory situations
  • Communicate complex information clearly and persuasively in English
  • Hold a relevant university degree (law degree preferred)
  • Have experience working with regulatory bodies, especially in European jurisdiction
