A well-reputable company operating in the Financial Industry is working in partnership with GRS Recruitment to hire a Chief Technology Officer to spearhead the end-to-end technology strategy for the company’s financial services and EMI businesses. The successful candidate will be an accomplished technology leader with a strong track record in the FinTech or banking sector. You will bring deep expertise across engineering, product development, digital transformation, core banking systems, infrastructure, cybersecurity, operations, data strategy, cloud computing, mobile application development, agile methodologies, and DevOps practices. As CTO, you will lead a high-performing, cross-functional team to deliver secure, scalable, and mobile-first solutions, including core banking platforms and digital workflows, within a fast paced, agile, and regulated environment. You will be accountable for crafting and executing a forward-looking technology strategy that fuels innovation, operational excellence, and sustainable growth across all platforms.
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Define and implement a comprehensive technology vision aligned with the business goals of microlending, factoring, and electronic money institutions (EMIs).

Lead digital transformation initiatives, including the design and rollout of proprietary platforms and mobile-first financial products.

Integrate and modernize technology systems across all entities to ensure seamless scalability and operational efficiency.

Lead the reengineering of core banking infrastructure for performance, reliability, and exceptional user experiences.

Guide the development of API-centric, mobile-native solutions tailored to lending, payments, and factoring products.

Oversee agile development teams and establish mature DevOps pipelines for continuous delivery and automated testing.

Build and mentor a centralized software engineering team to uphold coding standards and accelerate product delivery.

Drive end-to-end business process automation to reach 80–90% automation across operations.

Safeguard data integrity and ensure compliance with all relevant regulatory and privacy requirements.

Partner with business leaders to deploy cutting-edge technology that enhances customer journeys and streamlines operations.

Assess, procure, and implement technology solutions, negotiate vendor agreements, and steer the transition toward proprietary platforms.

Stay ahead of technology trends to keep the company at the forefront of financial innovation.

Form strategic alliances with leading tech firms to integrate emerging solutions and respond swiftly to operational issues.

Design and execute a robust cloud and hybrid infrastructure strategy to support high-availability systems.

Develop a proactive cybersecurity framework covering zero-trust architectures, SOC 2, ISO 27001 compliance, and threat mitigation.

Implement secure software development practices and perform rigorous vulnerability assessments throughout the SDLC.

Lead enterprise risk initiatives and maintain trusted relationships with regulatory bodies and external auditors.

Champion data science and AI/ML efforts, leveraging data to unlock insights and drive intelligent decision-making.

Build a scalable data architecture (e.g., Data Lakehouse) to fuel real-time analytics, credit risk models, and business intelligence.

Apply predictive modelling to areas such as fraud prevention, pricing optimization, and personalized financial products.

Streamline IT operations through automation technologies such as RPA and AIOps, while improving vendor performance.

Design an AI-driven omnichannel customer engagement model to enhance customer support and interaction.
CANDIDATE PROFILE

Demonstrated experience as a CTO or senior technology leader in FinTech or financial services.

Proven expertise in mobile app development, digital banking platforms, and automation initiatives.

Hands-on experience with developing and integrating proprietary financial systems.

Strong leadership qualities with a proven ability to build, guide, and inspire high-performing technical teams.

Deep understanding of data governance, information security, and regulatory frameworks in financial services.

Familiarity with EU and ECB regulations including DORA, EMD2, and PSD2.

Business-oriented mindset with the ability to translate tech initiatives into measurable business outcomes.

Experience negotiating with vendors and managing complex technology partnerships.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, capable of working cross-functionally across all levels of the business.

Experience leading digital transformations in diverse markets, particularly across Europe and Latin America. Experience in Africa is an added advantage.

Strong awareness of region-specific challenges and market dynamics in the financial sector.

Solid understanding of emerging fintech trends, especially around AI, ML, and next-gen tech solutions.

Proficiency in Spanish is highly desirable.

Flexibility to travel abroad as necessary for business needs.
