A growing banking institution with offices across the island is working in partnership with GRS Recruitment to hire an ESG Risk Analyst for their Nicosia based team. The successful candidate will be responsible for updating and monitoring the Bank’s ESG Plan, ensuring the timely implementation of the milestones under each stakeholder’s responsibility and assisting the advancement of the Bank’s ESG Strategy. MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
 
Data Collection & Management
  • Work with ESG stakeholders to identify data gaps, accuracy issues, and start process(es) to fill gaps
  • Ensure the extraction, collection, measurement, organization, curation, and analysis of ESG data to meet global ESG reporting and communication needs
Strategy & Implementation
  • Assist in the development and implementation of the Bank’s ESG strategy
  • Maintain deep understanding of ESG landscape, reporting, and disclosure trends of reporting frameworks, and standards, legislation, and best practices
  • Ensures compliance with applicable laws and regulations and keeps up to date with changing regulations and policies
Communication, Disclosure, and Reporting
  • Drive the Bank’s periodic ESG Reporting, and Support ESG framework alignment and disclosure, in accordance with the applicable regulations and standards
  • Serve as a key contact for ESG matters
Risk Management Framework
  • Assist the inclusion of ESG in the Risk Appetite of the Bank
  • Ensure ESG principles are included in relevant risk policies
  • Assist in the ESG materiality risk assessment and quantification
Compliance
  • Complying with internal policies, practices and procedures (e.g. regarding compliance, anti-money laundering, information security, risk, health and safety and human resources)
  • Adhering to local and international regulatory requirements (e.g. of the Central Information Register for the Issuers of Dishonoured Cheques, for managing cheques, confirmations, as well as updating customer information)
  • Identifying and reporting any discrepancies/cases of non-compliance to the appropriate person (e.g. to the Compliance Manager/Money Laundering Compliance Officer, Information Security Officer, Head of Risk Management Function, HR Manager, etc.)
  • Keeping abreast with key developments and trends related to own role.
  • Undertaking any other duties and projects as assigned by management
CANDIDATE PROFILE
  • University Degree in Finance, Economics, Operational Research, Mathematics or other related subject and a Master’s Degree in Finance, Economics, Operational Research, Mathematics and/or Holder of a Professional Qualification such as Chartered Accountant (ACA), Certified Accountant (ACCA), Certified Public Accountant (CPA), or Certified Financial Analyst (CFA).
  • Previous experience in an ESG related role, preferably in the banking or financial services industry, or advisory with banking industry exposure, will be considered as an advantage.
  • Relevant ESG frameworks and standards, legislation and market conditions.
  • Ability to identify and assess risks and opportunities related to ESG factors
  • Fluency in Greek and English, both written and verbal
