Our client, a well-established Financial Services firm based in Nicosia, is seeking to hire a Finance Accountant (Supervisor Level) to join their Finance Department. The role will primarily focus on supporting the company’s UK real estate business, offering a great opportunity to work across an active and growing portfolio. MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Supervise and review the work of junior accountants to ensure the accuracy and timeliness of financial data.
  • Perform month-end closing procedures, including journal entries, accruals, prepayments, and reconciliations.
  • Review and prepare bookkeeping across all entities, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
  • Prepare and review management accounts, budgets, and cash flow reports for UK real estate entities.
  • Maintain intercompany ledgers, reconcile balances, and ensure appropriate eliminations in group reporting.
  • Oversee bank, debtor, and creditor reconciliations, including interest and other periodic calculations.
  • Support the preparation of statutory financial statements and coordinate with external auditors and advisors.
  • Prepare and review VAT and tax returns for the UK entities.
  • Assist in process improvement initiatives and strengthening of internal controls.
  •  Perform other duties and ad hoc tasks as required to support departmental and business objectives.
 CANDIDATE PROFILE
  • ACA / ACCA qualified (or equivalent).
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 3–5 years of relevant accounting experience, including some post-qualification experience preferred.
  • Strong technical knowledge of IFRS.
  • Familiarity with UK GAAP is desirable, but not a must.
  • Proven ability to supervise, review, and support the work of junior accountants.
  • Excellent analytical and reconciliation skills with high attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills; fluent in English (verbal and written).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel; knowledge of Business Central is an advantage.
  • Organised, proactive, and able to meet tight deadlines under pressure.
