A growing renewable energy company with offices in Nicosia is working in partnership with GRS Recruitment to hire a Finance Manager. As the successful candidate you will have a dual reporting line to the Group CFO and the Country CEO. You will be closely collaborating with the country management team to maintain the financial health and drive the operational excellence of our client’s business. You will supervise a finance team member and oversee third party providers for accounting and tax filing. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Leading the accounting and finance department by supervising the preparation of financial statements, management accounts, and other financial reports, ensuring compliance with statutory, legal, and regulatory requirements for both investment and corporate activities.
  • Developing and implementing tax optimization strategies across entities, including dividend extraction for shareholder commitments.
  • Monitoring and ensuring compliance with financial covenants and maintaining financial ratios for debt agreements.
  • Managing outsourced accounting operations, validating entries, and producing monthly financial reports for the executive committee.
  • Preparing board decks and reports required for presentation to the Board of Directors.
  • Overseeing annual audits, addressing findings, and ensuring timely resolution in collaboration with external auditors.
  • Overseeing tax filings, ensuring compliance with Cyprus tax regulations, and managing annual CIT filings.
  • Building a fixed assets register and ensuring cost remapping aligns with the group structure.
  • Managing treasury transactions, online payments, and approvals as per authority matrices.
  • Creating semi-annual detailed financial plans
  • Support the ERP implementation (Odoo) at a later stage.
  • Acting as a partner to the business, providing insights and enabling decision-making through analysis and reporting.
  • Mentoring and developing the finance team member under their supervision to enhance skills, performance, and career growth.
  • Take decisions relate to the implementation of strategic decisions.
  • Develop and implement new ideas/concepts that have impact on Short /Medium term future business performance.
  • Authority to sign payments on predefined budget /agreements: make expenditures within pre-defined budget and written procedures.
  • Responsible on budget of a cost center.
CANDIDATE PROFILE
  • CPA or equivalent certification in Cyprus is mandatory, with a deep understanding of local financial regulations and tax frameworks.
  • 7–10 years of progressive experience in finance and accounting, including at least 3–5 years in a senior managerial finance role within a complex, multi-entity environment.
  • Extensive knowledge and application of Cyprus taxation laws, IFRS standards, and compliance frameworks, with a proven ability to navigate and optimize within these areas.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing financial covenants and ensuring compliance with debt agreements, including maintaining required financial ratios.
  • Proven expertise in overseeing outsourced accounting and tax functions, with the ability to validate and ensure accuracy, timeliness, and compliance.
  • Strong proficiency in developing detailed financial plans and analyzing large datasets to drive insights and decision-making.
  • Advanced skills in MS Excel, ERP systems (preferably Odoo), and accounting software, with a track record of successful ERP implementations or transitions.
  • Strong managerial and leadership abilities, with experience mentoring and developing junior finance team members.
  • Exceptional organizational and multitasking skills, with the ability to handle high levels of complexity and meet tight deadlines.
  • A collaborative mindset with excellent communication skills, able to effectively present complex financial information to senior executives and the Board of Directors.Proven experience as a Finance Manager, Financial Controller, or Director.
  • Background in the Engineering sector preferred.
  • Strong understanding of corporate finance and performance management principles.
  • Excellent analytical and decision-making skills.
  • Proficiency in financial software and tools.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
