We are delighted to assist our client, a respected legal firm based in Malta, in their search for a Financial Integrity & Regulatory Compliance Lawyer. This permanent position offers an exciting opportunity for a qualified legal professional with expertise in regulatory frameworks, AML, sanctions, and financial services. The successful candidate will join a dynamic team committed to maintaining the highest standards of compliance and integrity within the financial sector. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys regulatory work, practical problem-solving and the fast-moving world of financial crime compliance. The successful candidate will work closely with a senior partner and benefit from direct access, close supervision and an open-door mentoring style.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Advising clients on AML/CFT, sanctions and financial crime compliance obligations.
- Drafting and reviewing compliance manuals, policies, procedures and client advice.
- Supporting clients in FIAU/MFSA examinations, remediation exercises and regulatory engagement.
- Monitoring Maltese and EU developments on AML/CFT, sanctions, beneficial ownership and supervisory reporting.
- Working with regulated entities, including financial institutions, investment firms, funds, compliance teams and corporate service providers.
CANDIDATE PROFILE
- A genuine interest in AML, CFT, sanctions and financial crime compliance.
- Strong drafting, research and analytical skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and sound judgment.
- Strong written and spoken English.
- A collaborative, organised and proactive working style.
- All levels of experience will be considered. Experience in AML/CFT, sanctions, regulatory compliance, financial services or dealings with the MFSA/FIAU is a plus, but not mandatory.
- Any compliance experience, postgraduate study or relevant certification will be considered an asset.
SALARY AND BENEFITS
- €35,000 - €50,000 Gross Per Annum
- Salary will be determined based on experience, qualifications, and skills. The advertised salary range is indicative, any offer will reflect the successful candidate’s suitability.
