Our client which provides assistance and advise to Gaming companies is searching for a Head of Compliance, Risk & Player Protection to join their team in Malta. You will have three Managers reporting into you, plus their respective team members and be responsible for all operational and administrative functions that relate to the Compliance, Risk, Investigations and Player Protection. You will report to the Deputy Chief Officer – Regulatory and Chief Officer – Regulatory. The ideal candidate will have a degree level of education or equivalent (MQF level 6) ideally and have exceptional managerial/supervisory experience. MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Coordinate and implement the relevant strategic objectives pertinent to the Compliance, Risk, Investigations and Player Protection teams as required by the nature of the organisation
  • Propose improved strategies and process optimisation for the Compliance, Risk, Investigations and Player Protection units in conformity with the Company’s strategic objectives.
  • Coordinate and prompt the relevant recruitment processes as required for teams under his/her leadership
  • Ensure policies and procedures are in line with the required standards set out by the Authority
  • Provide key assistance and direction to respective leadership team reporting to him/her in the pursuit of regulatory objectives
  • Ensure optimal quality reports and analyses drafted by the Compliance, Risk, Investigations and Player Protection teams and provide input thereto
  • Define and maintain effective risk architecture of the Authority
  • Ensure effective monitoring and reporting of the Authority’s risk performance
  • Instil a positive risk, compliance and player protection culture in the Organisation and effectively manage a risk process
  • Keep abreast with local and international factors that might affect the gaming industry and in turn the Maltese jurisdiction and the Authority
  • Provide key input on internal issues, enforcement-related matters, directives and guidelines being drafted by the Authority
  • Be the main stakeholder with respect to risk mitigation techniques
  • Liaise with internal and external stakeholders, such as the FIAU, the NCC and other Government Bodies to consult and co-ordinate accordingly on risk and compliance related matters
  • Provide regular activity updates to the CRO and/or EXCO as well as the Board of Governors when needed
  • Assist the Board of Governors in establishing the Authority’s risk appetite;
  • Represent the Authority in various conferences and fora as may be required
  • Carry out any other duties/tasks as directed by the Deputy Chief Officer – Regulatory and Chief Officer - Regulatory.
CANDIDATE PROFILE
  • Minimum of Level 6 of education
  • Experience in Compliance/Risk/Player Protection shall be considered to be an asset
  • Strong leadership skills with a charismatic approach
  • Public speaking experience shall be considered to be an asset
  • Thinks and acts strategically
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced and changing environment
  • High level of both verbal and written English skills
  • Attention to detail and accuracy
  • Takes ownership and actions
  • Holds a strong analytical disposition, combined with proven communication skills
  • Decisive and assertive personality
