A start-up in the realm of Sports Gaming is looking for a Head of Legal & Compliance to join their team in Malta. You will be required to develop and lead the overall corporate legal strategy aligned with the organisation's business objectives. MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Act as a key advisor to the executive team, providing insights on mitigating legal and regulatory risks and ensuring legal considerations are embedded in strategic decision-making.
  • Manage and facilitate the acquisition and renewal of iGaming licenses from regulatory authorities worldwide.
  • Ensure consistent adherence to license conditions and requirements.
  • Establish and nurture positive relationships with regulatory bodies globally.
  • Oversee and manage corporate governance matters, including board meetings, shareholder relations, and regulatory filings.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to maintain high standards of corporate governance and ethical conduct.
  • Handle or oversee legal disputes, litigation, and arbitration proceedings, collaborating with external legal counsel to achieve cost-effective resolutions.
  • Protect intellectual property, trademarks, and patents.
  • Ensure the organisation's operations are fully compliant with local, regional, and international laws and regulations.
  • Develop and implement company-wide policies and procedures to ensure ethical and legal conduct.
  • Foster a culture of compliance throughout the organisation.
  • Ensure compliance with data protection and privacy laws, including GDPR.
  • Develop and maintain data protection policies and procedures.
  • Lead and mentor a high-performing legal team, including in-house counsel and legal support.
  • Foster a collaborative and proactive approach within the legal team.
  • Inspire and motivate team members, ensuring a high standard of work ethic
CANDIDATE PROFILE
  • Fully qualified
  • At least 2 years experience in a similar role within Gaming
  • Be based in Malta
