A well-established professional services firm, is working in partnership with GRS Recruitment to hire a Head of VAT for their Nicosia based offices. The successful candidate will lead and develop the firm’s VAT advisory and compliance offering. This is a senior role requiring deep technical expertise, strong leadership capabilities, and experience advising clients on complex domestic and cross-border VAT matters. The successful candidate will play a key role in shaping VAT strategy, mentoring the VAT team, and supporting business growth initiatives.
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Lead and oversee the firm’s VAT advisory and compliance services

Provide high-level technical VAT advice on complex local and cross-border transactions

Act as a trusted VAT advisor to a portfolio of international clients

Manage, mentor, and develop the VAT team, ensuring technical excellence and knowledge sharing

Review VAT returns, advisory reports, and technical opinions to ensure quality and compliance

Keep up to date with VAT legislation and regulatory developments and assess their impact on clients

Support business development activities, including identifying opportunities and contributing to proposals

Collaborate with other service lines to deliver integrated client solutions
CANDIDATE PROFILE

ACA, ACCA, or ADIT qualification

7–10 years of strong, dedicated VAT experience within a professional services or advisory environment

Proven technical VAT expertise, particularly in advisory work

Experience advising international clients and handling cross-border VAT matters

Previous experience leading or mentoring a VAT team

Strong communication, leadership, and client relationship management skills
