A well-established international shipping group is seeking an experienced Corporate Legal Counsel to join their dynamic team. This is an excellent opportunity to provide strategic legal support across corporate and commercial matters, collaborating with teams both locally and internationally. The ideal candidate will have a strong corporate law background, excellent drafting skills, and the ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment.
 
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Provide legal advice to internal stakeholders on corporate and commercial matters, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Draft and review legal and corporate documents, including resolutions, minutes, agreements, powers of attorney, and letters.
  • Manage KYC and AML compliance procedures.
  • Handle matters with the Registrar of Companies and Official Receiver, including preparation of relevant forms and applications.
  • Organize, manage, and maintain legal documentation.
  • Monitor changes in legislation and advise the business on potential impact.
  • Support internal group projects and cross-functional initiatives.
  • Collaborate effectively with departments in Cyprus and abroad.
  • Liaise with the Group’s external legal advisors and other external associates, such as banks, insurance companies, local authorities, and auditors.
  • Undertake any other relevant tasks as assigned by management.
CANDIDATE PROFILE
  • Bachelor’s degree in Law (LLB).
  • Membership in the Cyprus Bar Association.
  • 3–5 years of experience in an in-house legal role and/or corporate law practice in a law firm.
  • Experience in the shipping industry is an advantage.
  • Excellent command of English and Greek, both written and verbal.
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills.
  • Exceptional document drafting and writing skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.
  • High level of professionalism, integrity, and discretion.
