MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
 
  • Provide 1st and 2nd line support to vessels, crew, clients and multisite offices.
  • Resolve tickets based on the defined priority level and within the specified timeframe.
  • Perform remote troubleshooting through diagnostic techniques.
  • Determine the best solutions based on the issue and details provided.
  • Direct unresolved issues to the next level of support.
  • Record events and works performed to resolve issues within the system.
  • Identify and suggest improvements to procedures.
  • Manage and maintain the IT Asset Register with accurate inventory and record all hardware and software purchased and allocated.
  • Ensure IT familiarization is conducted with new employees.
  • Install, configure and troubleshoot new and existing hardware, operating systems and software applications on laptops, printers, mobiles, tablets, NAS and CCTV.
  • Perform user account setup on workstations and mobile devices.
  • Sustain network integrity, server deployment and security.
  • Evaluate risk and develop network recovery and backup processes.
  • Educate colleagues about security software and best practices for information security.
  • Ensure activities are within the limits of applicable laws, codes and regulations.
  • Protect systems by defining access privileges, control structures, and resources.
  • Maximize performance by troubleshooting problems and outages and scheduling upgrades.
  • Monitor areas of responsibility and communicate any potential issues.
  • Any other reasonable duties as defined by the role and management.
 
CANDIDATE PROFILE
  • Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in a similar role.
  • Knowledge of Windows 10, Active Directory (DHCP, DNS, user accounts), Antivirus systems, MS Office 365/Outlook, OneDrive and Teams.
  • Ability to repair computers/laptops - replacing or cloning disks would be considered an advantage.
  • Experience with computer networks, network administration and installation.
  • Clean criminal record.
  • Ability to handle confidential information sensitively and tactfully.
  • Excellent communication skills, time management skills – able to plan, prioritize and organize.
  • Very good English – Written and oral.
  • Flexible in work times.  Will be required to work and possibly travel outside of normal office hours and overseas as operational requirements demand.
