Our esteemed client in Malta is currently seeking a dedicated Junior Lawyer to join their legal team. MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBITLIES
- Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, non-disclosure agreements (NDAs), and other legal documents to ensure the company's legal rights are protected.
- Research, assess, and provide advice on potential risks related to business decisions and operations.
- Maintain and update the company's contract database as needed.
- Oversee the document execution process using electronic signature tools.
- Assist the legal team with AML and KYC checks, when required.
- Draft, update or amend internal policies and procedures.
- Regularly update and maintain standard internal contract templates.
- Support the Data Protection Officer in providing staff training on data protection laws and compliance.
- Assist the DPO with monitoring data management procedures and ensuring legal compliance across the company.
- Identify and track legal issues, providing proactive advice on potential solutions.
- Perform other tasks as required.
CANDIDATE PROFILE
- At least 2 years of experience in a law firm or as an in-house counsel.
- In possession of a law degree from an accredited institution.
- Warranted lawyer from an EU country with a valid license to practice law.
- Strong understanding of drafting of commercial contracts and knowledge of commercial law, preferably in telecommunications, e-commerce, information technology, software, or technology-related industries.
- Expertise in data protection and legal compliance.
- A strong understanding of Maltese and European laws.
- A strong team player and leader with the ability to build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- An effective communicator with fluency in English.
- Ability to take ownership of projects and tasks and drive them to successful completion.
- Ability to work under pressure and to manage sensitive and confidential information.
- Good people skills and ability to work in a team environment.
