A fantastic modern established international company, with operations in Switzerland and Malta, licensed by the MFSA to provide corporate and fiduciary services, are collaborating with GRS to recruit a MLRO - Legal and Compliance Officer for their growing team in Malta. The selected candidate will act as Compliance Officer and MLRO of the company and its subsidiaries, will possess extensive knowledge of Law and will have at least 2 years’ in a similar role. MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Act as Compliance Officer and MLRO for the Employer and subsidiaries.
  • Deal with client inquiries promptly and efficiently.
  • Liaise with authorities and professional firms to support client operations.
  • Attend to regulatory and compliance issues, including review of documents.
  • Perform KYC processes and legal research as needed.
  • Prepare company registers, share certificates, and assist with account openings.
  • Assist with documentation of commercial transactions, including vessel sales/acquisitions.
  • Coordinate AML compliance for onboarding and ongoing client reviews.
  • Organize and coordinate reporting exercises for regulatory requirements.
  • Keep abreast of legal and regulatory developments.
  • Update company policies, procedures, and compliance manuals.
  • Provide support to supervisors and colleagues as required.
  • Act as a personal assistant to the executive team.
  • Perform any other assigned duties.
  • Ensure AML obligations are met by the Group of Companies.
  • Report to the Managing Director and work closely with the team in Switzerland.
CANDIDATE PROFILE
  • Masters in Law (or equivalent) required
  • Minimum of two years’ experience in a similar role, preferably in financial services
  • Strong time management skills
  • Ability to multitask effectively
  • Highly organized with excellent attention to detail
  • Proactive and capable of working unsupervised
  • Adaptability to different tasks
  • Excellent written and oral English skills
  • Additional language proficiency advantageous
  • Good knowledge of MS Office products, including Outlook
  • Precise work ethic and self-motivated
  • Comfortable working in a small team environment
  • Confident, polite, and maintains a smart appearance
