A company which provides assistance and advice to Gaming companies is searching for a Network Engineer to join their team in Malta. You be responsible for managing and maintaining the Company’s internal and external IT infrastructure, systems, and services. Specifically, you will be tasked with configuring and administering the services available to the various stakeholders serviced by the IT team. Additionally, this person will be responsible for the design, implementation, and optimisation of the network infrastructure while assisting other members of the team with the implementation of network services and security configurations, service deployment, information asset management and providing support with user troubleshooting/support. The ideal candidate will have a Higher National Diploma in Computer Systems / Networking (Level 5 or equivalent); Candidates in possession of CCNA, or any other relevant Networking certification will be favourably considered. MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Deploying, configuring and maintaining the hardware and software components that make up the network infrastructure.
  • Implementing security measure to ensure protection of the network from any unauthorised access, data breaches and cyber-attacks, as well as implementing backups and recovery strategies to ensure the network can resume working in the event of any network failures.
  • Ensuring that the network performs efficiently, reaching target speeds, reliability, and latency, while also monitoring the traffic to the network and identifying and resolving issues that may arise.
  • Ensuring that the network is kept up to date by planning and executing upgrades to accommodate as needed and adopting new technologies when necessary to keep enhancing the network’s capabilities.
  • Managing the organisation’s network infrastructure. This includes keeping track and managing all routers, switches and firewalls found source, and ensuring that they are all reliable and the connectivity is secured.
  • This would include configuring, monitoring, and maintaining servers to ensure that they operate efficiently and meet the Company’s needs.
  • Managing operating systems and software applications, including installations, updates and troubleshooting for all the systems.
  • This will include assessing the organisation’s current and future IT needs and planning for upgrades and expansions, as well as identifying and purchasing any hardware, software and other IT resources required by the Company to meet these requirements
 
CANDIDATE PROFILE
  • Higher National Diploma in Computer Systems / Networking (Level 5 or equivalent).
  • Candidates in possession of CCNA, or any other relevant Networking certification will be favourably considered.
  • A minimum of 1-2 years’ experience hands-on experience in networking, routing, switching and problem troubleshooting.
  • Excellent knowledge of best practices around management, control, and monitoring of server infrastructure.
  • Experience with firewalls, Internet VPN’s remote implementation, troubleshooting and problem resolution.
  • Good understanding of routing protocols.
  • Experience in Hyper-V, VMware virtualisation, administration and troubleshooting.
  • Familiarity with backup and recovery software and methodologies
