GRS Recruitment is thrilled to offer an exciting opportunity for a Permanent NOC Support Engineer with a leading Telecommunications company in Nicosia. Join a dynamic team at an international voice and SMS carrier, playing a key role in maintaining global network infrastructure. This junior position involves 24/7 network monitoring, incident management, proactive issue resolution, and expertise in networking, VoIP, and SMS. Candidates should thrive in a 24/7 environment, work well under pressure, and collaborate effectively. Relevant certifications are a plus but not essential.
 
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Continuously monitor international voice, SMS, VSAT, TDM, and VoIP links to maintain network availability and performance.
  • Respond to network incidents, alarms, and outages according to established procedures and protocols.
  • Utilize a ticketing system to log and track network incidents and service requests.
  • Ensure timely response to incidents, document resolution steps, and escalate issues as necessary.
  • Take proactive measures to address network anomalies and performance issues.
  • Implement preventive actions to reduce incidents and enhance network reliability.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of network configurations, procedures, and incident reports.
  • Update network diagrams and documentation to reflect changes and improvements.
  • Network Expertise:
  • Leverage knowledge in networking, VoIP, and SMS to enhance the monitoring and management of network services.
  • Troubleshoot and analyze network issues, taking traces for SIP, SS7, and SMS flows.
  • Analyze network traffic patterns, volume, and quality to ensure optimal service delivery.
  • Proactively detect and investigate irregularities or anomalies in voice and SMS traffic.
  • Monitoring Network Equipment and Assets:
  • Monitor the status and performance of network equipment and assets, ensuring their optimal functionality.
  • Oversee interconnections with customers, ensuring efficient voice and SMS traffic exchange.
  • Traffic Analysis:
  • Analyze network traffic patterns, volume, and quality to ensure optimal service delivery.
  • Proactively detect and investigate irregularities or anomalies in voice and SMS traffic.
  • Capable of working in a 24/7 environment with a flexible schedule.
  • Collaborate effectively with team members, working under pressure when necessary to resolve network incidents and deliver continuous service.
CANDIDATE PROFILE
  • A degree in a relevant field is a plus but not mandatory.
  • While experience is a plus, this is a junior position, and candidates with limited experience are encouraged to apply.
  • Familiarity with networking concepts and protocols.
  • Knowledge of VoIP and SMS technologies.
  • Experience with ticketing systems for incident tracking and management is a plus but not mandatory.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to troubleshoot network issues and analyze traces.
  • Excellent documentation skills to maintain records of incidents and processes.
  • Effective communication for incident reporting, coordination with team members, and providing updates.
  • Willingness to take proactive steps to improve network performance and reliability.
  • Capable of working in a 24/7 environment with a flexible schedule.
  • Relevant certifications, such as Cisco CCNA or CCNP, are a plus.
