A global medical firm is searching for an Occupational Health Doctor to join their team in Malta. You will report to the Head of Global Assistance Services & Occupational Health and provide essential occupational health services that support the well-being of employees and ensure compliance with client requirements. This includes conducting medical assessments, promoting health education, and offering expert advice on fitness to work or travel. The ideal candidate will be a Medical doctor preferably a Doctor of Occupational Medicine (occupational physician) with at least 2 years’ experience. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Assists in health promotion and health education activities as directed and required

Providing instructions to third party clinics on the panel of tests to be carried out for occupational health medicals

Coordinate with the TPA Supervisor re conclusion and issuance of tests and necessary certification

Take ownership of ensuring any OH related tests are organised, undertaken and followed up on time and in line with client and medical requirements

Carrying out medical examinations as required

Carry out primary care home visits as required

Maintaining all related documentation and records

Administration, advice and analysis of medical findings / reports received from inside and outside our Network Partner clinics in accordance with the agreed SLA’s

Approving and assembling medical and occupational data and inputting the same with conclusions in our systems and where appropriate the client’s systems

Checking and/or consultation (with colleagues or externally) in respect to a 2nd Opinion if deemed appropriate

Determining health status i.e. ability to work in the role outlined by our Clients

Diagnosing / discovering risk factors

Educating, instructing and/or teaching Clients
-
Evaluating hazards, physical health, therapeutic methods
-
Explaining and/or guiding those that require assistance e.g. Client Employees, Clients, internal
-
Occupational Health Coordinators, Network Partner clinic personnel
-
Issuing confirmations & recommendations e.g. Fit To Work, Fit to Travel, Vaccination needs by Country to be visited in accordance with their laws and regulation and within agreed timeframes

Follow up and monitoring of Client Employee
-
Reporting on and/or assisting in compiling monthly, quarterly and annual reports
-
Researching and inputting into Client focused SOP’s

Any other duties as may be required commensurate with the employee’s experience, skills and Qualifications
CANDIDATE PROFILE
-
Medical doctor preferably a Doctor of Occupational Medicine (occupational physician)
-
2 years’ experience covering:
-
Occupational Medicine with a focus on workplace health management, risk assessment,
-
industrial toxicology, and assessment of fitness for duty
-
Primary Medical care: Skilled in applying appropriate diagnostic tools and methods to support accurate diagnosis, treatment, and interpretation of results
-
Certification and Accreditation to practice as an Occupational Health Doctor
-
A medical degree (MBBS, MD, or equivalent)
-
Ideally a Postgraduate Training or specialisation in Occupational Medicine
-
Ability to work under pressure
-
Ability to prioritise work
-
IT skills-including the use of MS Office – Word, Excel, PP

Must be well organized, and able to work independently

Strong written and verbal interpersonal communications skills in English

Adept at critical thinking i.e. being able to apply Occupational Health learnings appropriately and self-analyse with a view to seeking continuous improvement
